The Boro boys had a hit out yesterday versus Doncaster East. The 1st game saw our combined U/19 & Reserves side field a team of around 26 players. Doncaster East fielded a team of 17, so we had a fair few rotations during the day. Our boys got up easily winning by 66 points. Really impressed by some of our bottom age U/19s, who don’t physically have the body size of their opponents, but make up for it in skill and game sense.

The 1sts came up against a very spirited Doncaster East outfit and we were down 3 goals to nothing early in the 1st term. We started to find more of the ball and win more contested footy. The lads pulled away and scored an impressive 74 point win with only a couple of players pulling up a bit sore and no major injury worries. Our field kicking again was impressive and with 6 X U/19 boys in the side and all playing their part, it’s an exciting time to be at the club.

We still need plenty more supporters to get to our games and become a part of our family. The 2016 GFC Season Launch is being held today and if you’re interested in attending, don’t hesitate to check out our events page and get in contact with the co-ordinators.
